I've had little time to write here since my whirlwind trip to NY and Toronto. Had a fun time being a tourist in NY this time around (last times many years ago were business). I've just downloaded about 600 shots and video clips from my digital camera - embarassing just how much a tourist I was ;)
The conference was great - loads of interesting presentations. Mine went off OK - minor glitch in that my powerpoint was deleted by a previous speaker (accidentally) and I had to depend on "plan B" - talking about e-learning without the examples! Oh well, at least people will remember me - "you poor thing"....
It took lots of courage to front up last Tuesday and do another presentation for a Community of Practice meeting. Thankfully everything went well (taking my own laptop helped). It was well received and I had several positive comments afterwards. As a result I have been allocated around 100hrs of research time next semester to continue with the project I started last year (incorporating e-learning into our program) and to mentor other staff members interested in using e-learning.
