Our session this week involved looking at defintions of mashup. The origins were identified and then the popular culture meanings. Found this interesting article about the impact of mashups on the corporate world.
This morning I heard the term mashup again - while at a lecture by 'Future Laboratories' (2 futurists from UK. sponsored by Melbourne City Council). They referred to it in the way the boundaries have been blurred between culture and commerce.
I have just this minute finished downloading Second Life so I'm off to have a look at a site set up ny one of the people I met while in Toronto - they've sent this link which connects to the background work and research done by them at Buffalo State College.
